Texas insurance regulators have adopted stronger building codes for homes and buildings in counties along Gulf Coast.
The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) said the new construction standards apply any new building or property repairs in which the owner seeks insurance coverage from the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association.
Use this link to determine if your zip code falls within a TDI-Texas Department of Insurance, designated catastrophe area or zone, there are a limited number of manufacturers who design and have floor-plans available for these areas. No modifications can be made to these type of floor-plans - meaning - can't move walls.
